Dr. Alycia Harris

I am a psychology professional, educator, researcher, and coach who has developed a deep passion for identity and the many ways people and organizations come to understand themselves, including how that understanding is expressed through branding. While identity is often associated with the individual, and rightly so, through years of work in organizational contexts and in the area of organizational development, led me to recognize the critical role of organizational identity in shaping culture, decision-making, performance, and brand expression. My work is grounded in the belief that sustainable growth begins with clarity about identity at both the individual and organizational levels.

My academic training in psychology shaped how I understand identity as dynamic, contextual, and developmental rather than fixed or singular. This perspective naturally led me to systems thinking, where individuals are understood in relation to organizations, cultures, roles, and time. Identity does not form in isolation, and neither does leadership, decision-making, or brand expression. These ideas inform both my research and my applied work, allowing me to help clients see patterns, constraints, and opportunities that are often invisible when problems are treated as purely individual or tactical.

Over time, my interest in business and organizational behavior led me to study marketing and branding more deeply. What began as curiosity evolved into a focused passion for identity-based branding, both for organizations and personal branding. I became increasingly interested in how people and organizations attempt to communicate who they are, what they stand for, and why they matter, often without a clear or integrated sense of identity underneath those efforts. This work bridges psychological theory, marketing strategy, and ethical practice, emphasizing coherence, authenticity, and context-awareness rather than quick fixes or surface-level positioning.

Research plays a central role in my work. I engage in ongoing scholarly inquiry related to identity, development, systems, leadership, and branding, translating research into practical frameworks that are usable outside academic settings.

At the core of my work is a love of the journey itself. Identity development, leadership growth, and brand evolution are not linear processes, and they do not arrive at a final endpoint. I am drawn to working with people who are curious, reflective, and willing to engage with complexity in pursuit of meaningful, ethical, and sustainable growth. Through coaching, consulting, and education, my goal is to support that journey with clarity, structure, and respect for the systems in which people live and work.
